The definition of architecture calls it ‘the design of buildings and spaces’. SPACE RACE practices an architecture that extends well beyond that definition to something much more complex. At the heart of our approach is an innovative process for gathering information about the needs of our clients. We call this process Envisioning and it serves as a solid foundation for the development of design concepts. Envisioning is programming on steroids. We believe each client’s solutions are unique, and while planning concepts may look similar, implementation is often very different. We offer clients a full range of architectural design services, from concept through construction. Our firm includes experts in sustainable design, code compliance, contract administration, and building information modeling who contribute to our projects and create a truly collaborative process.

INTERIOR DESIGN
SPACE RACE offers a full range of interior design & space planning services. Great architecture is enhanced by great interior design. We believe that style is only one of the components of superior interior design. Interiors need to be functional and beautiful, have a sense of direction and flow, and support the building purpose and people. From an office to a press box, we cover it all. With the average person spending 90% of their time indoors, it is imperative we spend time designing the interior with the exterior in order to develop a complete building. Beyond selecting colors and lighting and furniture, we see our role as imagining how people will interact with and be affected by a space, and how we can enrich their time in it. LANDSCAPE DESIGN
Landscaping anchors a house to the site, connects it with the environment and creates a welcoming entrance to a home.We have a deep appreciation for nature and natural systems and a strong commitment to design that synthesizes aesthetics and sustainability. Landscape architecture at SPACE RACE involves the design of landscapes at a variety of scales—from large, multi-functional sites to small, intimate spaces. As a company, we are founded on the central belief that a garden should be both a pleasure to look at and a special place for you to physically enjoy, no matter how large or small a garden or outside space you have.
Space Race has a considerable private client practice and we work regularly with property developers and interior designers. We also collaborate with other companies installing conservatories, orangeries and garden rooms, as well as roof gardens, garden lighting schemes and traditional and natural swimming pools depending on the requirements.
MASTER PLANNING
Planning allows us bring together a team of architects, landscape architects and urban planners. Through this collaborative team, we help clients through the creation of master plans with a multitude of stakeholders to refine a unified vision for the project, and then frame that vision in a way that moves the project forward. We’re all ears when it comes to formulating a master plan, making detailed notes of the client’s dreams, goals and ambitions for their project. After we’ve sorted through all of the information and weighed the importance of the different components, we develop a strategy that becomes the guideline for building out the vision.
ECO BUILD & SUSTAINABILITY
SPACE RACE advocates that good design, construction and sustainability go hand-in-hand. We see sustainable design as a triple win: good for business, people and the planet. Sustainability is infused into all that we touch. We build energy simulation models early in our process to help inform decisions made in our design studios. Our approach is collaborative and integrated, focused on conserving resources, achieving energy independence, reducing carbon emissions and effectively improving your bottom line. We also aim to reduce the total energy consumption of the building in a passive way.
CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT
The journey of every project begins with programming. We first analyze client requirements and develop a comprehensive understanding of their unique culture to determine the best possible course of action.
We combine global reach with a tremendous local touch. Our commitment to our communities allows us to effectively navigate local regulatory approval processes from platting subdivisions to zoning and permitting. We also handle issues of site analysis, access, circulation, parking, urban design, local development guidelines and placemaking. It’s the entire picture. Always.
